Unfortunately, the company will never hold them long term. Employees with management experience and skills will not remain long term serving as just a mouth piece for the owners and upper management who just watch daily on the surveillance cameras and dictate from 2000+ miles away then show up once a month and force changes.
I truest hope I'm wrong as I spent 65-70 hours a week their from 03/05/2014 - until 06/21/2017 and was the first Manager hired so I've got a lot of pride in what I accomplished in spite of the struggles and issues we faced so I hope that the owners and executive management personnel find the right "recipe" ( pun intended ) and they continue to thrive.
Nice people, truck entrance is on 24th not 6th. Narrow entrance that looks like it goes nowhere but that is where docks are.
This was a new venture for the owners with little or no experience in manufacturing and production but back grounds in accounting, finance, software, sales, marketing, and others, so it is tough on the in house local management teams especially with no executive management on site.
The location and the available property make huge growth and expansion easily obtainable. So I hope their not just in it to make a good ROI, sell then move on to a new project. But, that's what smart business men and women do.
So when the owners believe they've built the business as far as possible or as far as resources available will allow, and the ROI reaches or exceeds the goals they set at the beginning they'll do what all smart owners do they will sell and in this area that usually brings undesirable changes for any existing employees or those allowed to stay on.
They have the right people with the right experience as most left successful jobs, and well paying jobs in their fields to be part of a new company from the ground up in their local area.
This was a new company starting basically from scratch as far as manufacturing/producing is concerned and the opportunity to be one of the best most respected companies in the area was there for them.
But, I believe they will continue to grow and be successful.
The owners as I said are highly intelligent their in this to make a lot of money, which they are and will continue to do so, but, qualified, trustworthy, skilled, ambitious available labor is getting harder and harder to find and keep.
I wish them well, they've grown at least 200% in all areas in 3 years and but they lose a lot of good people due to micro managing.
Or, as I see it they will push hard to raise sales, be very successful and do what ever it takes to look extremely exceptional on paper and sell to the highest bidder.
Time Will TELL
Best cookies I ever ate. Executive Management and owners are a good group of people but they micro manage from California.
As the top manager's and the 5 owner are decent, intelligent individuals, my fear for them and the employees is that they won't be able to keep the necessary, qualified , most experienced, and skilled managers and supervisors long term.Since none of the owners or executive management personnel are willing to relocate there lives to Iowa (understandably) and so it will be a battle for them until they either give up some control to the local employees.
But the owners are good at making money. But, they'll go through a lot more trial and error unless they cut the micro managing and give the local management the reins and let them do the jobs they've been doing all their lives, and thought they were being hired to do.
I believe a sale or a merger of some sort will occur most likely within 2-5 years but if not I'm sure within 7 years...
