Long walk,but cool to see if you have the time.
Was never a big Holly fun but the crash site is a beautiful farm setting and the shrine area plus the big glasses are sort of homemade but very touching. Well worth the short side trip from I-35. A big part of rock history.
What a cool experience as we have lived through this experience. Was really neat to see.
Very cool little memorial to some wonderful people. Keep in mind, the plane crashed in the middle of a farm field and the land hosting the memorial is still privately owned. It's only through the generosity of the landowner that visitors are allowed in. With that in mind, don't expect paved roads in the middle of farm acreage, plan accordingly and be thankful the memorial site is still accessible by the public.
It is a very nice memorial for 3 great legends of rock and roll. It's a good walk out to it because you can not drive back to it. It's in the middle of a field. The ground is uneven.
